Kendall Jenner Opens Up In An Interview With 'WWD'

by Julia Guerra

The Kardashian-Jenner clan are slowly but surely taking over the world. Between their addicting reality series, their newest apps, and constant social media updates, it’s easy to fathom in our minds that we are their best friends. Kendall Jenner was interviewed by Women's Wear Daily on Friday before her meet and greet at Macy’s Herald Square, and revealed to the fashion journal how she really feels about social media, growing up on-camera, and more.

It's pretty remarkable to consider just how behind-the-scenes we can get with the advancement of social media. Instagram provides the visuals while Twitter lays out emotions in less than 140 characters. Fans experience the lives of their favorite celebs in real time, all the time, so naturally, we all feel a close relation to the stars. In reality, however, there is so much more to these individuals than they are putting out.

Think about it. You are more than the Instagram selfie you snapped at least a dozen times before posting the "perfect" shot. Your thought process is not limited to so many characters, and what people see may not always be what they get. During her interview, Jenner opened up to WWD on a variety of topics, providing us with a deeper insight on the runways most valuable it-girl.

As Pretty Little Liars would like to reminds us, friends share secrets; that's what makes them close. So prepare to get that much closer to and get your daily dose of Jenner with the seven most interesting facts we learned about Kendall Jenner from her interview with Women’s Wear Daily.

1. On Social Media

“I don’t pay attention to it — I don’t read it," Jenner told WWD. "I don’t need it to affect my life. So I’d rather just not look at anything. You can get a million comments about how beautiful you look and how awesome you are, but the one comment that says they hate you and you’re ugly is the one that sticks."

2. On Privacy

"I try not to be too invasive into my personal life. When I was younger, I used to tweet a lot, everything I was doing and feeling," Jenner admitted to WWD. "I can’t do that anymore, because it’s just giving people too much room to judge."

3. On Caitlyn Jenner

"I’ve known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I’ve known for a very long time. It’s the same person," Jenner explained to WWD. "My dad says it herself sometimes, it’s kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is. My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got."

4. On The Future

"I want to be one of the best," Jenner stated. "I want to be like a Christy Turlington, still doing my craft and still killing it. I want longevity and to be able to do this for a really long time.”

5. On Organization

"I’m very competitive with myself. I’m a scheduler. I’m always trying to keep everything together — I’m very OCD and very organized," Jenner told WWD. "I like knowing things are coming together the way I wanted them to, and that it all feels right."

6. On Estée Lauder

"Before I got the contract, I’d heard from a lot of people that a contract with a company like Estée Lauder was like a stamp of approval, a stamp of your legit-ness," explained Jenner. "So getting that was a really big step for me."

7. On NYFW

"I’m a little tired, but it was good. I really love the looks from Marc, and Givenchy was a really sick show. It’s hard to be surprised by people who are really so creative, who are always really thinking at the next level, because you always expect something really awesome from them.”

All in all, it was a revealing interview that provided an even more behind-the-scenes look into the model's already very non-private life.
