America's Favorite Houseguest Of 'BB17' Is...

by Laura Rosenfeld

If you're not athletic enough, smart enough, or social enough to win Big Brother, you can only hope that the viewers at home like you enough to crown you America's Favorite Houseguest. Winning the "Miss Congeniality" award is usually not as satisfying as taking home the top prize, but hey, this one snags the winner $25,000, and that's nothing to scoff at. After weeks of wondering, we finally found out who would take home the second-best award during the live finale, when host Julie Chen announced that James is America's Favorite Houseguest of Big Brother 17 .

To tell you the truth, there was some stiff competition for America's Favorite Houseguest this year, so James should be extremely proud of the country deeming him/her worthy of that title. As the first transgender houseguest in Big Brother history, Audrey is a trailblazer that anyone would admire. Jason, who made the top three in the America's Favorite Houseguest vote along with John, was one of the funniest and most charismatic houseguests to ever walk through the Big Brother house door, don't we all just want to be friends with him? Shelli is such a sweetheart, fans seemed to love her almost as much as Clay.

But in the end, James was the houseguest America loved the most. Considering he had an an adorable southern drawl, penchant for playing pranks, and wore that cat hat, it would have been hard to not James your vote. I don't think anyone can disagree with the outcome of this vote. To hear more about his/her Big Brother antics, check out Bustle's podcast The Diary Room below.

So a big congrats to you, James. You may not have won Big Brother 17, but you will forever hold a place in our hearts. Or at least until we pick a new favorite Big Brother houseguest next year.
