14 Feel-Good Movies to Stay In and Watch Instead of Going Out on NYE '14

Paying an insane amount of money to go to an over-crowded bar in an uncomfortable dress and then not being able to get a cab home at the end of the night is my actual living nightmare. And it somehow is on everyone's agenda for New Year's Eve. Ergh. NO THANKS. It's built up to be the biggest party night of the year, but in reality New Year's Eve is THE WORST. And what's even worse is the New Year's Day hangover.

If you're like me and you'd rather kick off 2014 by staying in with your friends in a cozy set of pajamas while shotgunning pizza, then I say WELCOME TO THE REAL PARTY. Here are 14 feel-good movies that are perfect for getting the giggs, dancing in your living room, and feeling like a kid again all the way into the next year.

'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'

The tropical locale will take you far far away from the wintry chill of New Year’s Eve. Also, who can resist a puppet vampire musical? This movie will give you all the smiles you need to start off 2014 on the right foot.

'10 Things I Hate About You'

There are a million things to love about this movie. Little Joseph Gordon-Levitt. 90s hair and fashion. A killer soundtrack. Plus Julia Stiles reminds us time and time again why going out and partying is lame. But Heath Ledger, oh my heart.
