Kim Zolciak Will Return To 'DWTS', Mark My Words

by Lisa Fogarty

Kim Zolciak is a fighter. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star has encountered many rough patches throughout her life, but the 37-year-old conquered all of them and managed to achieve the life of her dreams by being one tough cookie. As Kim Zolciak recovers in the hospital from a "mini stroke", as she called it on Instagram, her support system, and her positive attitude, will ensure her speedy return to the current season of Dancing With the Stars.

(Update: Zolciak tells Bustle in a statement through her rep: "I want to thank everyone for their love and support over the past few days. I am now home with my family, resting and taking care of my health. I can't express enough how much I love dancing and this whole experience, and I hope this will not be the end of dancing.")

I should note: The reality TV star's representative has no comment on whether Zolciak will return to the show. All that is known right now is that she was returning home from DWTS on a red eye flight when the left side of her body suddenly went numb and she lost the ability to communicate. The TIA, short for Transient Ischemic Attack, was likely the result of a blood clot, but Zolciak assured fans that she got 100 percent feeling back in her body and is on the road to recovery.

As of Friday, the mother of six was still in the hospital taking it easy and receiving oxygen. She said "things are looking up" on Instagram, but that she has to undergo one more procedure (which she did not identify). At any rate, she looks healthy and seems in really good spirits, which is a positive sign.

The really big news is that she has the cutest guest by her bedside (aside from her football playing husband Kroy Biermann). Zolciak revealed that her DWTS partner Tony Dovolani has been glued to her hospital bed for two days, helping to cheer her up.

Swoon! What an absolute gentleman, not to mention the single best dance partner in the history of the show. But, to return to the real question, is there a chance that Zolciak will return to the show?

This isn't the first time a contestant has left DWTS because of a health scare or injury, only to return weeks later. When Julianne Hough participated, she left after Week 6 because of stomach pain, was diagnosed with endometriosis, and had to have her appendix removed. She returned to dance in the semi-finals (with a different partner, but still). Melissa Rycroft suffered a rib injury in Week 8 and had to be replaced the following week with pro-dancer Lacey Schwimmer. When she returned and was, funnily enough, paired with Dovolani, the duo achieved a perfect score for their Samba. How's that for a comeback?

Granted, Zolciak's TIA sounds serious and she should be given all the recovery time needed and if a doctor orders her to stay off the show for the remainder of the season, her health is, by far, the most important concern and she needs to heed that advice.

Zolciak is a woman who has had to deal with a lot in her life, if there's one thing the lady has grown it's a thick skin and a strong determination to get through anything. If there's a way for her to get out of bed and strap her dancing shoes on, she will. And, if it doesn't happen this season, there's always Season 22 of DWTS.
