Kris & Caitlyn Jenner Seem On Better Terms Now

by Nicole Pomarico

Now that the dust has settled since Caitlyn Jenner first came out, it seems like she and her family are getting along pretty peacefully. But, it wasn't always that way. From the beginning — like, when the Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce special aired — it was clear that Kris Jenner was struggling the most with Caitlyn's transition. And, who could blame her? As she explained it on the show, it was like the person she'd been married to for decades was disappearing, and it was out of her control. But, after they had a tearful conversation on the finale of I Am Cait, it seems like things are getting better. So, how is Kris coping today?

It sounds like Kris dealing with her feelings on the subject is going to be featured pretty prominently on Keeping Up With The Kardashians this season, especially for the next few episodes, which E! has dubbed their way of telling the Kardashian side of the Caitlyn Jenner story. Kris hasn't spoken much about the topic publicly — maybe because she doesn't feel like it's her place, or maybe because she's still struggling with the whole thing — but every time she has said something, it's been all positive.

But, even if Kris seems to be doing a little better, recent reports point to her continuing to have a difficult time moving on. According to what a source close to the family told Radar Online, Kris has "lost interest in everything" she used to love, which is a really heartbreaking thought.

"Kris is deflated, defeated and getting increasingly down in the dumps,” the friend allegedly said. “She just can’t reconcile the fact that this glamorous woman used to be her masculine Olympic-hero husband — and is now getting unfairly compared to her in every way. Poor Kris is a shadow of her former self and it seems she’ll never recover from this.”

I mean, don't get me wrong — I don't expect to see them meeting for dinner and posting BFF selfies all over Instagram anytime soon, but I assume Kris' appearance on I Am Cait was at least a start. And hopefully, the rumors about Kris' loneliness aren't true. I'd hate to think that she's that bummed out, as hard as coping with a situation like this has to be.

And, no matter Kris feels about the situation, though, she's always been adamant about maintaining a relationship with Caitlyn as a member of her family, and making sure that Caitlyn stays active in her family's lives, especially where Kendall and Kylie are concerned. And that's what matters most, right?
