Nicole Kidman 'Interview' Cover Is Old Hollywood

by Amy Sciarretto

You can't argue with classic. In an era when extreme and exaggerated color palettes or "no makeup" makeup looks are the norm for glossy magazine covers, a simple look is welcome! Nicole Kidman did Old Hollywood glam on her Interview cover and it was absolutely striking. It channeled an era long since gone by, which was elevated by the black and white presentation.

Remember that the magazine did the eight celeb selfies for its September cover, showing its acceptance of the digital age in which we live, where celebs and stars can dictate how they want to be seen, thanks to social media. I love that the followup cover is Kidman, rocking a vintage, retro, and downright elegant look that appeared to be a product of an actual photo shoot.

The Oscar-winning actress is a style icon who isn't 25 years old or relying on Instagram to make a point or to get her message across. She doesn't chase trends, instead opting for timeless red carpet ensembles that come with an edge thanks to the details.

Kidman has always been a stunner, thanks to her statuesque height and her porcelain skin. She is the epitome of grace and elegance and this cover is a demonstration of that, thanks to her short, defined curls and her swan-like neck.

Want a textbook example of bedroom eyes?

This cover is it. Breathtaking, right? Kidman didn't need a lot of makeup or an ornate ensemble to channel the classic screen sirens or glam goddesses of Hollywood's golden age. It feels like the camera caught her in a private moment, without much makeup and zero pretense.

The inside photo spread was also supremely retro, featuring Kidman in a tub, among other poses.

Kidman is such a classic, peaches 'n' cream beauty. She doesn't bury her porcelain skin under tons of bronzer or a spray tan. She's a total source of inspo for us light-skinned girls.

Even while wearing a neutral, champagne-colored dress, she added a dose of something else with the red belt and the va-va-voom slit.

She sparkled in black and gold! This slinky dress was simple in construction but the two-tone color made it unforgettable.

Kidman was red hot in this classic cut. The neck bow was a lovely detail.

The actress often works the column shape and neutral palette at fancy events. The feathery bottom of this frock was lovely.

Kidman was sleek and chic in scarlet and with a blowout and a bow.

Nicole Kidman has that rare ability to remain classic and elegant with just a touch of edge with her style. It's always about the details with her ensembles.
