Bradley Cooper & J. Law Were Never A Thing

by Jaclyn Anglis

Bradley Cooper is setting the record straight once and for all about his relationship with Jennifer Lawrence. They may have costarred in a plethora of films including Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Serena, and the upcoming Joy, but their relationship in real life is strictly platonic. In a new interview with Howard Stern, Bradley Cooper said he'd "never" sleep with Jennifer Lawrence.

When pressed about his frequent costar, Cooper said, "It just didn't happen. It's not the way we are together." So we now have additional confirmation about a status we pretty much already knew about. After all, the Oscar-winning actress revealed the secret to their "work spouse" success earlier this year when she said, "No sex!"

Since these two have collaborated on numerous occasions, it is obviously important that they agree on this subject and it seems that they thrive by doing so. But this is not the only pertinent subject that these two are in unanimous agreement on.

Recently, Lawrence made headlines for her bold and unapologetic stance against gender pay inequality, specifically in respect to the revelations made in the Sony hack that she earned considerably less money than her male counterparts in American Hustle, in which Cooper was her costar. In a strongly worded essay for Lena Dunham's Lenny Letter newsletter, Lawrence wrote, "I’m over trying to find the ‘adorable’ way to state my opinion and still be likable." Not only did Cooper applaud Lawrence for her letter and sharing her thoughts, he also revealed that he would now start sharing salary information with his female costars before any film he is interested in goes into production. Cooper taking on an active role in a cause she feels so strongly about it shows that the two are on the same page about making a difference.

Money aside, another important thing that they are on the same page about is putting all the effort and passion they can into their art. When they worked on Serena together, they both praised each other's talents and willingness to work hard to put out a fantastic product in a behind-the-scenes video from the film. Cooper said, "She is a wonderful actress, her best asset is her level of relaxation when she acts. It's thrilling to be involved with as the partner in the scene. It takes you in to the scene." And Lawrence responded in kind, saying, "He's hilarious and makes the process so much easier."

It's a wonderful thing to see that even with the absence of romance, these two absolutely flourish together in so many different respects. Being in agreement about important topics is obviously a good look for them!
