Don't Be Tardy fans, Real Housewives fans, and Dancing With The Stars fans now have something to collectively rejoice about rather than fret over. On her Instagram, Kim Zolciak shared that her heart surgery was a success. She captioned the picture of herself, which shows her in her hospital gown looking radiant despite the procedure, as follows:
My [heart] surgery was a success!! I can't wait to be back on my feet 100%! Glad it's over! Quite the whirlwind this last month has been... but such a blessing too #MyFamilyHasBeenAmazing #TheFalconsHaveBeenSoSupportive #GodIsIncredible #Blessed #Grateful #ThankYouToMyDoctorsAndNurses #AmazingTeam.
A week before, she announced that she'd be having her surgery on Instagram. She also explained that the "mini stroke" (as she called it) she suffered on Sept. 23. was not due to her waist trainer, as some fans were insinuating. In an effort to clear the air, she wrote,
I am a very healthy woman who takes great care of myself, however I was born with PFO (a hole in my heart) which enabled a clot to cross over and stop oxygen to my brain for a very short time in turn causing me to have a TIA, I will be having heart surgery to repair it.
The reality star told E! News on Oct. 8 of the surgery, "I have one of the top cardiologists in the country who's amazing. Anything that has to do with you heart and brain is pretty scary, but heck, I've been through it. I'm OK." She is a damn trooper, that's for sure.
I mean, after getting acquainted with Zolciak for some years now, fans know that it is completely within her character to maintain a peppy, upbeat, and open attitude even in an instance where others may have understandably become more a bit more aloof. But she didn't let the anxiety of going through such a stressful, ongoing health issue deter her from living her life. In fact, the aforementioned Instagram post and her posts within the last week are just further reassurance to us fans that she's getting back to her old self after her mini stroke.
As evidenced by the below photos, she was even joking about chasing around her large brood and dancing in anticipation of her husband Kroy Biermann's football game just days before her surgery.
Some parts of her life and career may have been put on hold because of her medical issues, but health is what matters most. Besides, us fans know that Zolciak isn't going anywhere, anyway.
