Victoria's Secret New Fantasy Bra Has Arrived
Diamond rings may mean forever, but what about a bejeweled bra with a $2 million price tag? This morning, Victoria's Secret unveiled its new Firework Fantasy Bra with Lily Aldridge as the lucky model. According to Vogue, the exquisite bra is the product of 685 hours of labor and encrusted with precious gems ranging from yellow sapphire to blue topaz (suddenly, that $80 lace bra doesn't sound too fancy anymore). Leave it to Victoria's Secret to transform even the most ordinary undergarment into a dazzling masterpiece.
If only I casually had $2 million to drop on a bra. Until then, I'll have to stick with the virtual kind — the debut video features Aldridge grooving to psychedelic surf music. Looks like this VS Angel has upgraded from wings to diamonds, and I'm not one to complain. Every year, Victoria's Secret crafts an extravagant bra destined to be a crowd pleaser and ultimate envy object.
Throughout the past decade, models from Adriana Lima to Gisele Bundchen have taken a turn at rocking the Fantasy bra on the catwalk. Though the styles and models change over time, the Fantasy bra still retains one recurring trait: the ability to remain a winning showpiece. This particular firework isn't dying out anytime soon, but take a look at the best of Victoria's Secret Fantasy bras from over the years.
Bra goals, anyone? I'll just worry about my bank account later...
1. Adriana Lima & Alessandra Ambrosio (2014)
Last year, Brazilian babes Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio both wore the Fantasy bra on stage. The ingredients include diamonds and rubies, all done in an intricate, belly-grazing design.
2. Candice Swanepoel (2013)
In 2013, Candice Swanepoel modeled a more warm-hued Fantasy bra with a pear-shaped ruby as the main act.
3. Alessandra Ambrosio (2012)
Spring awakening, anyone? Ambrosio previously wowed in a floral Fantasy bra, complete with flower wings and a petal skirt.
4. Miranda Kerr (2011)
Angel-faced Miranda Kerr took over the Fantasy bra reign in 2011 with a pastel aquamarine number. Choice of gem? Pearls, appropriate for a sea theme.
Now if I only had 2 million dollars...
