'The Flash' Introduces Kendra Saunders, aka Hawkgirl, But She Doesn't Have Wings Yet
Everything is coming up Cisco on The Flash. My favorite S.T.A.R. Labs tech has finally admitted to everyone that he has metahuman blood running through his veins, and then he received the best metahuman name, Vibe. Not only that, but Cisco also managed to talk up the new barista at Jitters, and even though it's not me, I'm OK with this new pairing. That's because this new character on The Flash is Kendra Saunders, aka Hawkgirl, and she's finally made her way to TV.
In the Season 1 finale of Flash, we briefly saw her as the singularity opened up over Central City. She was never outright identified as being Kendra/Hawkgirl, but thanks to all those promos for Legends of Tomorrow, we know that's her identity. It was only a matter of time before she finally emerged on the Flash, and now it's finally happened. The story she tells Cisco is that she's brand new in town — and also uses that as her reason for shutting Cisco down the first time he asked her out.
Kenrdra makes a joke about metahumans being in town, and Cisco laughs it off. It's hard to tell if Kendra is already a metahuman herself, or if those powers come later. We know she's going to have wings at some point, but if she's got them already, who knows? So expect her to stick around for a while on the Flash, before moving over to Legends, of course. And in the meantime, as long as she makes Cisco happy, with or without wings, I'm a fan of Kendra.
