Look, it's no secret that the world is looking forward to the big screen adaptation of John Green's The Fault In Our Stars. I am, too. I kind of won't shut up about it. Friends have gotten annoyed, etc., which is why I will diligently report to you that there is a new still from The Fault In Our Stars , and it features Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort canoodling in the Anne Frank House.
You probably already know Shailene Woodley from The Descendants, or from that other much-anticipated YA adaptation Divergent — or possibly even as Marissa's first little sister in The O.C. or as Amy in The Secret Life Of the American Teenager (probably best to forget about that last one). But for me, the role of Hazel is her most important to date.
Those who've read the book know the significance of the Anne Frank House to the story — it is where (I guess spoiler alert?) Hazel and Augustus share their first kiss. As Hazel says in her narration in the novel:
I looked up at him thinking that you cannot kiss someone in the Anne Frank House, and then thinking that Anne Frank, after all, kissed someone in the Anne Frank House, and that she would probably like nothing more than for her home to have become a place where the young and irreparably broken sink into love.
The tagline of this movie is "One sick love story," after all.
It's all surprisingly brown, isn't it?
