Harry Potter Book Night 2016 Theme Revealed

Dust off your wands, Potterheads. U.K. publisher Bloomsbury just announced the theme for Harry Potter Book Night 2016. Get ready for A Night of Spells, coming to a bookish location near you on February 4.

In February 2015, the first Harry Potter Book Night boasted more than 10,000 events worldwide. Its success prompted Bloomsbury to announce, only months after the first event, plans for a second annual celebration. As Entertainment Weekly notes, "Most of last year’s events took place in the U.K., [but] global readers can take part."

Booksellers, teachers, librarians, and others interested in hosting a Harry Potter Book Night event can sign up online for printables, including save the date cards, discussion guides, and more. Although The Guardian reports that sign-ups for event kits will be open through November 23, the official website lists the cutoff as October 23. Either way, it can't hurt to get on their mailing list, right?

If you aren't in a position to host an event, do encourage your local librarians, youth leaders, and school teachers to make it possible for Potterheads in your community to join in on the celebration. If you're having trouble convincing them, just show them how fun the first Harry Potter Book Night looked.
