Jennifer Lawrence Rocks Dior & Red Lips At 'Hunger Games' Premiere — PHOTOS
As The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 press tour and premieres wind down with the film's Nov. 20 multiplex bow, the film's star continues to dazzle in Dior ensembles. However, at the Los Angeles premiere, Jennifer Lawrence slayed red lips, which she paired with her shaggy, platinum blonde lob.
Lawrence, who is a Dior spokesmodel, wore a simple, sleeveless, white column gown with a skinny and sheer cutout in the bodice. The gown was by Dior Couture because duh. If it ain't broke... you know the rest! Her bouncy, layered lob, which looks fabulous, thanks to its glam, platinum shade, framed her face with a deep side part. Her hair did have an '80s vibe, but a delightfully '80s vibe, thanks to all that texture and those layers.
Since the dress was somewhat unobtrusive, J. Law went with statement lips. She doesn't often do bold, red lips; instead, she goes with softer, more neutral hues, like this rosy caramel shade.
But she should incorporate red into her lipstick wardrobe more, since the color works with her skin tone, her impeccable red carpet taste and dress choices, and her new, Marilyn Monroe-inspired hair hue.
While J. Law certainly wins us over by being a lovable, goofy, and awkward klutz, she is also quite the glamazon who toes the line between both worlds fearlessly.
She toes the aforementioned line in Jimmy Choo heels, of course. And yes, she wore Choos with this Dior dress.
Those are some seriously blood red lips.
Lawrence also wore a crisp, clean white coat. Her scarlet lips popped against all that white.
The rest of her makeup was neutral and that was a smart style move. Since her lips were so statement, everything else had to be minimal in order to achieve a sense of balance and to avoid drifting into "too much" territory.
What a bombshell!
The top half of her dress, with the gold leaf detail and the sheer slit in the bodice, was quietly stunning.
Look at J. Law doing a power pout!
Or the Old Hollywood dame pose! She can be so playful, even when dressed up.
The volume and crunchy look texture of her hair was so '80s. #BigHairDontCare.
She totally looked like the femme fatale in an '80s glam metal video, thanks to the blowing hair. See, it really was all about the '80s energy.
Lawrence rocked the dress, the hair, and the lips. This was red carpet fashion "drama" at its best.
If there was ever a way to wind down a promo tour for a film, it's with these lips.
You can see the scalloped detailing here, too.
Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care Lipstick in Rouge Massai 869 is a good option to start with if you want to try J. Law's lip look. ($35, sephora.com)
