Historically, I have always been jealous of this actress. Before, the envy stemmed from her former title as Zac Efron's girlfriend — and now, as ultimate style icon of the bohemian aesthetic. Case in point: Vanessa Hudgens stunned in a starry gown at the 2016 InStyle Golden Globes celebration. Sorry Coco Chanel, but your LBD has been dethroned.
The Spring Breakers starlet has always been a regular on the fashion radar. Her sartorial skills range from coordinating manicures and shades (in gold nonetheless) to mastering the art of streetstyle (I'm talking floral print, leather, and clog all wrapped up in one flawless ensemble). But no matter the occasion — walking the dog, grooving in the valley of Coachella, brunching in Beverly Hills — Hudgens is always the walking definition of bohemian chic. And evidently, her laidback Californian essence translates to the red carpet as well.
Last evening, Hudgens rocked a dreamy Bec & Bridge Spring 2016 dress, and this frock is anything but ordinary. Cut-outs and a plunging V-neck flashed her toned physique, but what stole the show was the glittery star print (dazzling has never looked better). To complete the look, Hudgens opted for a hearty dose of ring candy and one dainty drop necklace. A vampy maroon lip perfectly sealed the whole package.
Naturally, this isn't the first time Hudgens has aced in the wardrobe department. Take a look at her seven best outfits — a blast from the past that is sure to rekindle the free spirit inside all of us.
1. Coachillin'
The birth of the Hudgens aesthetic begins with — of course — music festivals. Every year, my excitement for Coachella comes from 50 percent music and 50 percent Vanessa Hudgens outfits. Leave it to her to effortlessly infuse flower crowns, kimonos, and cut-off denim for the hippie vibe.
2. Velvet Underground
Add a unique spin to the classic wrap dress with something as simple as crushed velvet. Fishnet tights optional.
3. Angel In Disguise
I now have a sudden urge to show up to my 9 a.m. class in a sleek, all-white ensemble. From the chic cape to the pop of the '70s mustard yellow, what's there not to love?
4. Blue Jean Baby
This is two-piece done right. A crisp white maxi skirt compliments the cropped denim halter top. And don't forget to accessorize using the Hudgens method: stacked rings and bracelets — the more, the better.
5. The Supreme
Though Hudgens is faithful to her trusty coterie of denim, neutrals, and vibrant patterns, when she whips out the black, she means drama. Yet again the two-piece outfit strikes, and this time, it's all about mixing and matching textures.
6. Gone In Glitter
Still hesitant to break out the pantsuit? Let Hudgens inspire you — a sophisticated yet contemporary style is the way to go. From the sheer chiffon to the delicate sequins, you'll never have to fear ever again.
7. Welcome To The Jungle
I'm probably biased simply because leopard print is my favorite color, but this look is edgy and oh so Hudgens. A leopard fur coat adds a wild splash to an otherwise refined black dress and is 100 percent Kelsey Nguyen approved.
