Olivia Wilde Knows A Good Fashion & Beauty Combo
This actress attended the Revlon Love Is On event on Wednesday night in New York City wearing an outfit that exemplified class and elegance. Olivia Wilde stunned in a white dress and red lip, combining the two standbys for a classically beautiful look. Makeup and fashion are two different beasts, but clearly Wilde knows how to tame both.
There's no doubt that Wilde would look gorgeous even if she was wearing a potato sack with no makeup on. However, the 31-year-old actress regularly rocks drop-dead-gorgeous looks. While some celebs on the red carpet go all out with either their outfit or their hair and makeup, Wilde effortlessly works with both elements in perfect combinations. Her outfit and her makeup/hair always work beautifully together. And thus was the story with her look last night.
Wilde donned a gorgeous ivory dress with a floral applique near the neckline. The dress was stunningly simple and fit the actress perfectly. While it certainly would come across as boring if Wilde had just worn that, it didn't. Why? Because the Revlon Global Ambassador certainly wouldn't attend a Revlon event without a bold lip!
She paired her simple dress with a bright lip color that was strikingly beautiful against the ivory shade of her outfit.
Besides the red lip, Wilde kept her beauty relatively simple with some bronzer, light brown eye shadow, and voluminous mascara. Her pulled-back hair really left the focus on her dress and lip, working to streamline the look.
Wilde certainly knows how to ace a red carpet. Not only is her style on-point, but her approach to makeup is statement-making without going overboard. She's found the oh-so-covetable secret to impeccable style, and I doubt she's going to stop taking advantage of it!
This isn't Wilde's first time at this rodeo. Let's take a look back at some of her best fashion and beauty combinations.
1. Gray Smokey Eye & Striped Dress
This striped dress with red floral appliqué on the side is very girly, but Wilde gives it that cool-girl touch with sleek waves and a gray smokey eye.
2. No Makeup Makeup & Printed Dress
The best makeup for a busy printed ensemble with a lot going on? No makeup makeup! With some basic foundation and a little mascara, you can let the dress do the talking.
3. Red Lip & Bold Dress
Clearly, Wilde's latest look is her forte! This similar outfit, which she rocked last month, featured a white and red dress paired with a classic red lip. Her simple yet disheveled ponytail here gives her girly ensemble an edgy vibe.
4. Thick Eyeliner & Embellished Gown
Even at the Met Gala, where over doing it is basically the dress code, Wilde still looked stunningly paired down. Her bright fuschia dress and black gloves worked effortlessly alongside her thick black eyeliner and slicked back hair.
5. Bright Eyes & Long Sleeved Gown
It's easy to get lost in a piece like this, with a busy print, long sleeves, and a high neckline. That being said, Wilde let her glowing skin and bright eyes stand out with luminous makeup and sparkling eye shadow.
6. Smokey Eye & Sequins
When wearing sequins, a smokey eye is a no-brainer. But even so, Wilde kept it understated with a brownish tone, bronzed skin, and a nude lip gloss.
7. Cat Eye & Fringed Dress
This whimsical dress is screaming for an equally fun and pretty makeup look. And, surprise, surprise, Wilde nailed it. She wore a cat eye with blushed cheeks, and looked absolutely gorgeous. Would you expect any less? Nope, didn't think so.
