We've already met Hawkgirl on The Flash, but the CW's upcoming crossover event will introduce her companion. Who plays Hawkman on The Flash and Arrow ? Falk Hentschel is a German actor you may have seen before, but it's clearly about time that he got a role like Carter Hall — especially considering that he and Ciara Renee will both star in the upcoming midseason series DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
According to the official CW press releases for Tuesday's episode of The Flash "Legends of Today," the character should appear towards the end of the action, leading into Wednesday's episode of Arrow "Legends of Yesterday." The press release specifies that while the gang is being attacked by a man named Vandal Savage, "things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings shows up and flies off with Kendra." This will introduce not only Hawkman, but also his complicated relationship with DC heroine Hawkgirl, to the CW universe.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, the actor discussed how his family escaped the then-divided East Germany as a child. He wrote and produced shorts that helped him get work in Hollywood, and has been working steadily ever since. So, where else do you know Hentschel from? Here are a few places that you've seen the actor before.
Reckless
The actor is probably best known for recurring as Arliss Fulton on the CBS series. He was Georgina Haig's character's husband.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Arrow universe isn't Hentchel's first foray into the world of comics — he also played Marcus Scarlotti on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 2. He was a Hydra agent who attacked the United Nations and hinted at his comic book alter-ego Whiplash.
Knight and Day
He also appeared in the 2010 comedy that starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz as the international assassin Bernard.
White House Down
Following that, Hentschel was a henchman in another action movie. He definitely has the chops to put up a fight, but hopefully this role will allow him to show some heart.
Street Dance 2
Finally, Hentschel is a great dancer who starred in a dance battle movie! According to the above-mentioned OK! Magazine interview, he has choreographed as well. What more could you want in a superhero, honestly? Clearly, he was meant for great things, and Hawkman is going to be fun to watch on both The Flash and Arrow.
