The 'PLL' Liars Have Certainly Grown Up
There's only a little more than a month left to wait for the premiere of Pretty Little Liars Season 6B, and while I know January 12 probably seems like it's still ages away, I promise it'll be here before we know it (or maybe that's just wishful/desperate thinking). We know that when we meet up with the Liars again, we're in for some big adjustments — the fact that 6B picks up after a five year time jump being probably the most important and the most noticeable. In fact, the new Pretty Little Liars Season 6B art shows how much the Liars have grown up — and how, despite the years that have passed since the events in the first half of the season, some things never actually change).
The shot shows the Liars in front of the Rosewood city limits sign, outside of Spencer's car (which seems to either have dirt spilling out of it or beneath it — it's too hard to tell, for multiple reasons). The gang's all there in the shot, albeit with a much more sophisticated and fancier wardrobe and some more intense eye makeup, and they look amazing. But perhaps more importantly, they also look pretty shifty and like someone's got something to hide. Given that this is Pretty Little Liars we're talking about, that's likely the case.
Unfortunately, the photo doesn't give too much away about what we can expect when Pretty Little Liars returns next month, but maybe that's a good thing. In an era of perpetual spoilers, a little mystery can go a long way, and that's certainly the case for this show. After all, it's the mystery that kept it going for all six seasons so far, and something tells me we've got way more to uncover in the coming season. Until then, we'll just have to sit and stare at this photo and make up conspiracy theories in our head about what could be coming. We'll probably be wrong, but does that really matter? I don't think so.
Pretty Little Liars returns to ABC Family on January 12, but if you can't wait until then, you can have a look at the new intro where Emily gets to do the infamous "Shh!" below:
