Kate Middleton Rocks Alexander McQueen
Got a fancy holiday party to attend and no inspiration? Look no further, because Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen dress is the perfect balance of chic and festive. Stepping out onto the London streets in sensible black pumps, the Duchess of Cambridge attended the Anna Freud Centre's annual Christmas party in a cherry red dress designed by Alexander McQueen, a longtime favorite of Middleton. Though this isn't the first time that Middleton has worn the dress, the trendy peplum and pleated skirt combo is no less stunning the second (or third) time around, which shows that a great basic holiday dress really can last for years.
Middleton has worn Alexander McQueen on many occasions, and the design house's classic yet edgy aesthetic is the perfect match for a young royal who doesn't want to spend the rest of her life in conservative monochrome suits. Since creative director Sarah Burton designed Middleton's legendary wedding gown (which, by the way, has its own Wikipedia page), Middleton has turned to the design house for a number of public appearances, including the christening of daughter Princess Charlotte. While Alexander McQueen certainly has its share of out-there looks (remember Lady Gaga's lobster heels, anybody?), the brand also designs gorgeous coats and dresses that are better suited for a royal family member, and Middleton's holiday dress is the perfect example.
