The votes are finally in and Kanye West won GQ 's Most Stylish Man of the Year. With his own clothing line, fabulous personal style, and enough money to build a truly incredible wardrobe, it only makes sense that he earned this top honor. He's stayed true to himself while rocking some seriously talked about outfits, and there's no doubt in my mind that his confidence was the key to his sartorial success.
To anyone who has been following his fashionable year, you know that Kanye was the clear winner. The rapper turned clothing designer beat out Jared Leto, Robbie Rodgers, and Lucky Blue Smith in the semifinals to secure his spot on top. The publication left it to the fans to vote a winner, so it might have helped that Kanye is married to the queen of social media. Or maybe Kanye love Kanye so much that he voted for himself over and over? Either way, his best looks of 2015 clearly indicate that he deserved his win.
From rocking sweatsuits on the red carpet to creating his own fashion line, Kanye has really made a name for himself in the fashion world this year. The designer didn't have to do much to prove his stylish ways, either. His second Fashion Week show was just as minimalist as his first, and all he had to do to change the color of his Yeezy Boosts to create another masterpiece. He's a sartorial genius if you ask me.
It's been a busy year for the music mogul, and his outfits have been on-point throughout it all. What makes the man such a clear style winner is his confidence and ability to stay true to his own ways — style and otherwise. It's not easy to find your own personal style, but we could all learn a thing or two from Kanye's top looks of 2015.
1. Oversized Deep V-Neck
He let Kardashian have her moment with her sheer Givenchy gown, but his simple outfit was definitely still fabulous. I've never seen a deep v-neck look quite so high fashion before.
2. Red Carpet Sweatsuit
Kanye surprised everyone with his monochrome red carpet sweatsuit. The look showed off his Yeezy Boost 350s, which I assume is why he choose the outfit.
Then he proved to be a master of layering when he took the stage to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
3. Shirtless Suit
Although he once again let Kardashian have all the spotlight, his shirtless suit look was definitely one of the best of the year.
Nothing but a gold chain and a pinch of confidence.
4. Ripped White Tee
Kanye spiced up his suit yet again at the Time 100 Gala where he rocked a ripped white tee underneath his suit.
The subtle yet stylish twist to a formal look stayed true to his personal style.
Also, this happened.
5. Maroon Bomber Jacket
Kardashian might have been debuting a new hairstyle, but Kanye was keeping it classy as always.
6. Oversized Trench
Mixing his signature, laid-back style with a statement piece, Kanye stood out in this oversized trench.
He took the jacket off and sat front row at Fashion Week in a sweatshirt.
7. Black And White Suit
He could've gone all black, but that would've been way too easy.
8. Velvet Sweatshirt
Kanye made a velvet sweatshirt, bomber jacket, and sweatpants look as high fashion as ever.
I bet you never thought a velvet sweatshirt could look this fierce.
9. Jean On Jean On Jean
He proved to be the true master of jean on jean this year in the "FourFiveSeconds" video.
Clearly this man deserves a style award.
