What Does Kanye West's "FACTS" Mean? He Certainly Drops A Lot Of Truth Bombs
Yo, guys, I’m really happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but Yeezus just dropped one of the best new tracks of all time... one of the best new tracks of all time! That's right, West fans, Yeezus just casually hit us with the most important musical debut of 2016. Kanye West's new track — titled "FACTS" — is the best New Year's Eve gift we could have all asked for. Leave it to Yeezus to pull a move like this, right? What better way to ring in 2016 to casually debut some long-awaited, new music?
Don't answer that, it's rhetorical.
Though West has been hinting that a follow-up to 2013's Yeezus was close, no one was sure exactly when it was coming. To be fair, that was probably all in an effort to keep us on our toes. (Well played, sir. Well played.) Earlier today, the artist's wife, Kim Kardashian, hinted that the song "was about to drop." (She also hinted that it would be fire, which, unsurprisingly, is true. As Kardashian wrote, "#FACTS.")
Now it's finally here. But, what does "FACTS" mean?
Simply put, it's exactly what the title suggests — West dropping a whole lotta facts. Or, at least, his facts: With lyrics like "2020, I'ma run the whole election," (did he just confirm again that he's going to run for President in 2020?) "Plus Kimoji just shut down the app store," "On the field I'm over reckless, on my Odell Beckham," and "10 thousand dollar fur for Nori, I just copped it/ Your baby daddy won't even take your daughter shoppin'," (and also, the very random "Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, I might do my own hotel," — is West going to open up his own hotel?!) the song is really West at his most truthful. Which, you know, is saying something, because the guy usually isn't one to mince words. All-in-all, it's the perfect track to end 2015 with — honest, badass, pointed, and authentic.
