Hailey Baldwin's More Than Her Famous Last Name

On "I'll Show You," one of the best tracks off of Justin Bieber's comeback album Purpose, he sings: "My life is a movie and everyone's watching / So let's get to the good part and past all the nonsense" — a line that most likely refers to how deeply his life is scrutinized by the world and how he wants to prove how much he's grown up. But after a touchy-feely St. Bart's vacation with his longtime friend Hailey Baldwin, all leading up to the pivotal moment when Bieber and Baldwin passionately kissed and posted the evidence on social media, someone (me) could easily apply those lyrics to the Instagram documentation of Bieber's relationship with Baldwin (the "good part" obviously being that they're finally making moves after flaunting their flirtatious friendship on Insta for years). So, now that it seems that Baldwin and Bieber are an item, it's time to start asking the important questions. Namely, what does Hailey Baldwin do?

If that's a phrase that you've literally typed into Google before, you're not alone. And I mean that with absolutely no disrespect to Baldwin; it's a legit question that people are curious about and want to know the answer to. And the answer, first and foremost, is that she's a model.

The 19-year-old, who is currently signed to Heroes Models Management, is serious about her career. Despite the fact that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth (dad is actor Stephen Baldwin), she is well aware that she has to work hard to make a name for herself in the industry — and modeling will open those doors.

"My agents and I set a list of goals for my career, so I’m pretty much just trying to reach those goals," Baldwin told Wonderland magazine in February 2015 (she scored the cover). "I think modeling is a great platform, and I am really enjoying what I am doing now, but as I grow as a person, I will see what works for me. I just want to stay open to explore all creative avenues."

And though her carefully curated Instagram is filled with glittery parties and plenty of "of course this shot was totally candid and not at all perfectly posed" photos, the blonde model is more than one of those "Instagram girls." Baldwin, who is besties with "it" models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, has legit modeling credits to her name, including walking the runway for Moschino and Topshop and scoring magazine covers and catalogue shoots.

Of course, Baldwin is all about crafting the perfect, PR-worthy image that leaves fans enticed, intrigued, and always wanting more. And, needless to say, some of that crafting involves keeping fans guessing about the nature of her relationship with Bieber — a relationship that the two frequently flaunt on Instagram, yet (repeatedly) denied was romantic in the past. Now, however, as the pop star posted that shot of the two locked in an undeniable makeout sesh, this means that there is only more opportunity to tease their relationship on Instagram — whatever it may be.

2016: Year of the Bieber/Baldwin Instagram romance. I can dig it.
