'The X-Files' Releases First Minute Of New Revival

by Michelle Lulic

X-Files fans, Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are officially back. The popular 1993 dramatic, sci-fi series lasted nine seasons after coming to an end in 2002, and, now, it's time for the conspiracy theories to get kicked up a notch. Actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return in the newly-released first minute of The X-Files revival. Well, kind of. With the very beginning of the upcoming revival being nothing more than an explanation of the past from Fox Mulder himself, fans know that we're all reentering the eerie, suspenseful world we knew and loved. And, despite the already released X-Files trailer, things have just gotten even more real. As we watch photos of the past being burned, we quickly learn that the past still holds its importance. However, we're about to enter an entirely new chapter in these character's lives, so, seriously, the nostalgia and anticipation is real.

What little we do know so far in regards to differences is this: The conspiracies will be getting more intense. The world is a whole different place than it was in the '90s. With advancements in technology, a heightened reality of Global Warming, and changing warfare around the world, the new material for The X-Files revival is probably going to make us think about things in a whole new way. So, get your popcorn ready and prepare to take a twisted new trip down memory lane. And don't mind me... I'll just be watching the first minute of the reboot on repeat until it returns.

The revival of The X-Files premieres on FOX on Sunday, January 24.
