Amy Schumer's Oscar Snub Reaction Is Amazing
Thursday morning was a time of celebration for the actors who woke up to find they've been nominated for a 2016 Oscar award, but that also means that there were far more other stars who didn't receive the coveted nod, and among them is one of my favorite comedians. For reasons I cannot begin to understand, Amy Schumer was snubbed during the Oscar nominations this year. I know what you're thinking: "How can this be? Trainwreck was phenomenal!" I couldn't agree more, because I saw Trainwreck twice and I am still obsessed. The bad news: This is just the way these things work. If everyone was nominated, the Oscars would never end. The good news? Schumer's reaction to her Oscars snub was amazing.
After finding out that she was missing from the list, I had a feeling Schumer would have something to say about it, and I'm so glad I was right about it. It wasn't long after the announcements were made that she hit Twitter to share her feelings about the fact that the Oscars forgot her in a way that was both funny and adorable at the same time.
And best of all, she even managed to accomplish this without seeming like a sore loser, which is the risk you run when you comment on not being nominated for something.
First of all, is that a sequin covered cat sweater? If so, where can I purchase it? Second all, is this not the most precious thing you've ever seen? Schumer's throwback photos are always so cute, but the addition of mini-Amy really makes you wish that the little girl in the photo was celebrating her Oscar nomination instead with those crossed fingers. I'd like to believe that we live in a world where that is possible.
There are so many reasons Schumer should have been nominated this year, but now that she's finally hit her stride in the entertainment world, I know she'll have more opportunities to shine on Oscar night in the years to come. If not, I have a feeling Schumer knows she deserves to have been recognized for her talent. How could she not?!
