These Vintage 'Gilmore Girls' Pics Are The Best
With the news that Netflix is, reportedly, once again breathing life into the greatest fictional town that ever existed (that would be Stars Hollow, Connecticut), there's nothing like a little #ThrowbackThursday, Gilmore Girls -style. While I would give pretty much anything to say that I am currently writing this while having a classic Gilmore Movie Night (or at least having a Gilmore Girls marathon), alas, I am not. Mostly because I'm too lazy to Netflix it up right now, but also partly because I'd have to watch Seasons 1-3 again on repeat because I'm weird and hate it when Rory goes off to college and Dean turns into a jerk and Logan enters the picture. And as much as I love me a solid don't-even-move-from-the-couch Gilmore Girls marathon, there's only so many times you can watch Rory and Lorelai banter about coffee and Luke's and make witty pop culture references before you have to slowly back away from the TV and re-evaluate your life.
So take a moment, take of sip of that coffee from Luke's Diner (or something from Al's Pancake World if you're feelin' a little shady), and let's re-live the photos of the cast of Gilmore Girls throughout the years.
1. When They Were Actual Babies
Fetuses, all of them. Is Luke 12? And what's Miss Patty doing next to Emily? This picture is all kinds of shocked emojis.
2. Like Mother, Like Daughter
My middle school self was crazy envious of Rory and Lorelai's wardrobes, which were clearly purchased entirely from the Gap and J. Crew. I wanted those army green pants more than anything.
3. Rory Being Very Un-Rory-Like
Alexis Bledel is more Lorelai than Rory in this photo, while also clearly not rocking that Baby-G blue MacBook that Rory got for her 16th birthday.
4. Rory And Jess Get Silly
Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia took the Rory and Jess romance off the small screen and into real life, dating for three and a half years before they broke up in 2006. Guess the real-life Rory and Jess weren't meant to last as a couple, either (boo).
5. The Family That Makes Duck Faces Together...
Tell me this doesn't look exactly like that moment in the opening credits when Lorelai pulls Rory to her and they go off laughing. It's an exact replica!
6. Lauren Graham, Flaunting The Epitome Of '00s Fashion
This entire outfit just screams 2005. (Mostly because of the layered beaded necklace.)
7. Emily, Gettin' On With Her Bad Self
Emily Gilmore, proud member of the DAR, flashes those gams at an event for the Museum of Television and Radio. (Kelly Bishop is a Tony Award-winning actress/dancer.)
8. Lorelai Holds A Surfboard
Ugh. Someone give me Lorelai's straightened hair.
9. When Worlds Collided
When '00s teen dramas collide: Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton) is clearly giving Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) the evil eye here. Put the bottle down, Marissa, and let's give Rory her moment. (Side note: This dress is easily something Rory could've worn for that 24-hour dance marathon that she and Lorelai attended.)
10. Posing Awkwardly By A Cake
Like how Luke built Lorelai a chuppah, he also clearly designed this chuppah-inspired cake.
11. The Gilmore Girls Hang With GG Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino
I can only assume it was caffeine flavored.
12. Where You Lead, I Will Follow
Towards the end of the series, Bledel and Graham matured just as their characters did (minus that whole not-speaking-to-each-other fight that still gets me). The Gilmore Girls look polished, put together, and clearly ready to grace our TV screens when the Gilmore Girls reboot happens.
Now, which way to Stars Hollow?
