Back in the early '00s, there was once a movie that starred X-Men's Cyclops, Cher from the Clueless TV show, Gia from Full House, and the inventor of Hemming My Way. That movie is Sugar and Spice, a teen comedy released in 2001 that became an instant cult classic. 15 years later, it's fascinating to see where the cast of Sugar and Spice is now, as while some of the actors I mentioned above have made it big — hello, James Marsden — other members of the movie's ensemble seemed to have faded from sight over the years.
But all of them got to be part of a true '01 classic. Sugar and Spice follows Jack (Marsden) and Diane (Marley Shelton) as two teens in love — but who face a big challenge when Diane gets accidentally pregnant. They initially try to build a life together on their own, but when they find that it's harder than they ever could've thought, Diane and her cheerleading squad decide to rob a bank to make some money. The movie is a quirky comedy intent on making the art of the heist into a hilarious journey — and it's filled with a talented cast of actors, many of whom are still appearing in movies and TV today.
Check out where the cast of Sugar and Spice is now.
Marley Shelton (Diane)
In 2014, Shelton starred in The Lottery on Lifetime. She has also starred in the movies W., Grindhouse, Death Proof, American Dreamz, and The Last Kiss.
James Marsden (Jack)
In addition to playing Cyclops in the X-Men movies, Marsden will star on the HBO TV series Westworld and has also appeared on 30 Rock as well as in the films The Best of Me, Welcome to Me, Lee Daniels' The Butler, Enchanted, Hairspray, and The Notebook, just to name a few of his credits. Basically, he's been everywhere.
Rachel Blanchard (Hannah)
The former Cher from the Clueless TV series has most recently starred in another TV remake of a famous movie: Fargo, in which she played Kitty Nygaard in 2014. She also guest starred on Flashpoint, Flight of the Conchords, and Seventh Heaven.
Melissa George (Cleo)
Now a blonde, George starred in NBC's The Slap last year — and she starred in the Australian original in 2011. She also had a recurring role on The Good Wife as consultant Marilyn Garbanza, as well as appearances on Grey's Anatomy, Lie To Me, In Treatment, and Alias.
George is also the inventor of Hemming My Way, which lets you change the length of your clothes without needing to hem anything. It's a genius invention that has earned millions for the actor.
Mena Suvari (Kansas)
Suvari currently stars in the WE TV series South of Hell as a demon-hunter-for-hire named Maria. She has also appeared on Chicago Fire, American Horror Story, and Psych.
Marla Sokoloff (Lisa)
Once upon a time, Sokoloff was Stephanie Tanner's friend on Full House. These days, she has guest starred on Hot in Cleveland, Grey's Anatomy, The Fosters, CSI: NY, and Drop Dead Diva. She memorably played Lucy on the TV series The Practice, as well. Could a trip to Fuller House be in her future?
15 years later, the Sugar and Spice cast couldn't be doing better — as long as they keep staying far away from any more organized crime.
