YouTube Helped Zendaya Embrace This Part Of Her Physical Appearance

Zendaya is like the spokeswoman of self-love. If you could put confidence in a bottle and sell it, her picture would be slapped on the front. That makes what I'm about to tell you all the more inspiring. Zendaya hated her hair when she was younger, according to Cosmo. She really is just like the rest of us! And looking at where she is in her hair journey today, I'd say there's hope for everyone.

Odds are you've had your fair share of hair frustrations over the years, and you're definitely not alone. It turns out that even Zendaya had a problem with her curly hair, and she now embraces her natural locks like a champ. According to PeopleStyle, she used to be upset because her hair didn't look like everyone else's, which, oddly enough, is what I love most about her look.

“Growing up, I wasn’t very confident in my curls,” Zendaya told PeopleStyle. “It wasn’t like the hair that girls around me had. And nobody really knew what to do with my hair. My mom is white and my dad is black — they have two very different hair types. So we learned how to manage my hair together, and I also watched YouTube videos to find easy styles to do.”

Almost everyone goes through a stage in life where their natural hair isn't appealing to them — even Disney stars. Zendaya has come a long way as far as hair confidence goes. She went from hating her look to fully embracing it. I'd say that's a serious win. The star even has some advice to all the people out there who might be struggling as well.

“There is nobody out there that is completely, 100 percent satisfied with every portion of themselves,” she told PeopleStyle. “And as you grow up, or as you grow older, you have to learn about yourself and you have to become more familiar with yourself.”

Well said! It's all about being comfortable in your own skin, which the face of Cover Girl clearly knows a thing or two about.

Her hair journey might not have been completely filled with self-love, but it definitely has a happy ending. Today the star is all about changing her style, and I'm so glad that YouTube taught her everything it did. Just look at how far she's come with her hair confidence over the years!
