OPI continues to slay with its celeb nail color collabos, the most recent being a partnership with the always iconic Hello Kitty, which was very pink. Kerry Washington's OPI nail polish collection is a personally inspired range, not a Scandal-inspired range. But some elements of her hit show have crept into the collection because duh. But it's all about Washington, not just her onscreen alter ego Olivia Pope. Washington's OPI ambassadorship was announced late last year and of course I've been hungry for more details. When will Washington's OPI nail lacquer collection be available? It turns out we're going to have to wait a while.
But judging from the details the actor revealed to Women's Wear Daily, her collection will be well worth the wait.
WWD reports that Washington's collection will boast 15 colors and will be on counters on Aug. 4. The polishes will cost 10 bucks a pop. So basically Kerry Washington x OPI boasts a wide variety of colors, is affordable, and will arrive in time for late summer and early fall.
Bustle reached out to OPI reps, who confirmed Aug. 4 as the release date for the range.
But wait. There's more... much more. Washington noted to WWD that the she views nail art as the intersection of fashion and beauty and she's right.
She revealed that the shades are self-referential, as they should be! There's "Kerry Blossom," a plum, and "Liv," a dark gray, as well as "Madam President," which is a red. Washington even christened one of the 15 shades after her baby girl, Isabelle, who is almost 2. That's "IsabelletWay" and it's a caramel color.
Ooh, right?
Another element of Washington's collection that is supremely awesome is that she created nudes for all skin tones. She told WWD, "For me, growing up, when people were saying 'nude,' they weren’t talking about my naked skin tone. I made sure that in my collection, we had nudes that also represent me." These shades include Pale to the Chief (light nude), Speaker of the House (chocolate brown), and Yank My Doodle (tawny copper).

Based on all of those awesome details, Kerry Washington x OPI is worth the wait until late summer. Yes, it's about six months away before you can get your hands (and nails) on a bottle. But at least you know you will have quality nail colors to accompany and complement your autumnal style. Huzzah!
