Don't Forget To Tune In For The Super Bowl

by Kelly Schremph

Unless you've been living under a rock these past few weeks, odds are that you know that the Super Bowl 50 is taking place on Sunday, Feb. 7 for what's sure to be an action packed game of football between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. However, you may not be aware of the exact details surrounding the event, such as what channel the Super Bowl is on or even when exactly it airs. While the game itself starts at 6:30 p.m. (EST), the festivities are pretty much an all-day affair, ranging from pre-game celebrations to even an official kick-off show — all of which will take place entirely on the CBS network this year.

Of course, that means that your usual Sunday night line-up of programs will be put on the back burner this week, with both Madam Secretary and the The Good Wife out on a temporary hiatus. But that doesn't mean that the network won't have just as much excitement to offer in ways of football festivities. In fact, I can think of multiple reasons why you should still tune into the Super Bowl, regardless of whether you're a diehard football fan or not, much like myself. For example...

The Commercials Are Worth A Watch

I have zero interest in any football game, let alone the Super Bowl, but when it comes to the commercials, I can't resist tuning in to see what amazing antics the advertisers have in store. From celebrity cameos to Clydesdales becoming best friends with a puppy (SERIOUSLY, ALL THE FEELS), there's no telling what's to be expected during each commercial break and that's way more intriguing that any touchdown could possibly be. (Well, in my opinion at least.)

The Halftime Show Will Be Amazing

When you have the likes of Coldplay and Beyonce performing, not watching basically feels illegal, don't you agree?

Random Dance Routines In The End Zone May Occur

I'm not saying it will be a complete reenactment of this Remember the Titans moment, but it's still pretty entertaining to see these athletes bust a move in celebration of a touchdown. #respect

It's The Perfect Excuse To Throw A Party & Eat Lots Of Food

And really, is there anything better than that?
