Yes... This Actually Happened

by Ivy Jacobson

For Smilers, Miley Cyrus' latest promotional picture for her MTV special will delight. For everyone else, it's just Madonna and Miley looking cringe-worthy. I'm not sure if Miley Cyrus and Madonna's Miley Cyrus: Unplugged performance is supposed to be Grand Ole Opry-themed, based on the picture taken at the Tuesday taping, but I'm feeling a whole lot of Grand Ole Secondhand Embarrassed anyway.

In the photo, Cyrus and Madonna are both decked out in bedazzled country getups and rootin' tootin' cowboy hats, as I predicted — and their tongues are both defiantly out. Whyyyyyyyy? If this little preview is any indication of what their performance will be like, there may be twerking and the bird being flipped in our future, and we should just prepare for it now. The two singers sang "We Can't Stop" and "Don't Tell Me" together, according to E! News. The outlet also reported that Miley slapped Madonna's bum a few times throughout the night, and sang a cover of godmother Dolly Parton's song, Jolene.

Does Cyrus owe Parton a favor or something, or is this just the perfect time to re-explore her country roots?

Cyrus posted a picture of the two with the caption, "YEEEE MAAAAA FUCKINNNN HAAAWWW YALLLL." Whatever that means.

Madonna posted a picture kissing Cyrus on the forehead while she sticks her tongue out, wearing a bra underneath a jean jacket, with the caption, "M&M ! Don"t ever Tell us We Can't STOP!#revolutionoflove." We wouldn't dare, Madonna.

"That was pretty f**king cool, you guys," Cyrus says in the special. "It sounds super-lame, but as a pop star it's pretty cool performing with Madonna...Today was one of those days that it was really easy to get out of bed."

We have no doubt that they'll bring down the house... barn... whatever you want to call it. The special airs tonight, Jan. 29. at 9 p.m. E.T.
