Hilary Duff's First Grammys Dress Was Everything

by Danelle A. Sandoval

Every time Grammys week hits, in addition to daydreaming about what everyone will be wearing, I also like to look back on the most iconic fashion moments that happened in the past. One that I'll never forget was Hilary Duff's first Grammys outfit. The pink babydoll fitting, the ribbon, and shimmer made her dress a literal 2000s dream come true. Perhaps I can attribute most of my pre-teen style to the Disney Channel star who totally influenced my fashion choices, as well as my middle school friends'. I mean, who didn't want to dress and look like Lizzie McGuire?

There was something about her 2004 Grammys dress that was seriously iconic. And looking back on it now, I still think it's pretty fabulous. Let's just say her ensemble was the perfect interpretation of a signature '00s look and it still gives me all the feels.

What about it is so 2004? First of all, the dress was a mixture of sequins and what appears to be wool, all topped with a pink bow. I don't know about you, but there's nothing that screams 2000s more than a textured, babydoll dress. She even had the cutest pink kitten-heeled sandals to match.

Right by her side on the red carpet was her sister Haylie Duff, who also looked amazing in a beige, glittery halter dress. Twinning for sure. Together, the two were seriously a 2000s dream come true:

I wonder what Hilary Duff would think of her outfit looking back on it now though.

I'm sure she'd still love it! After all, Duff does love throwing it back to her Lizzie McGuire days.

Could there be a chance she might rock a pink dress like this in the near future? I hope so! Blush pink is making a comeback, you know.

This was not the end of her fabulous Grammys appearances, though. Let's take a look back and check out some of her other red carpet looks from the big music event:

Four years later, she went with something a little bit more grown up and edgier, including her dark brown hair.

Her style has definitely evolved over the years!

I hope the Younger star comes out with new music in future so she can make her big Grammys comeback.
