Micellar Water Hacks Lazy Girls Will Love

by Miki Hayes

Those one-and-done type products are what we lazy girls live for. Which is why micellar water is basically the best thing that has happened to our skincare routines. Not that it's new or anything. Micellar water has actually been around for a long time as a part of French skincare. Because France has harsher tap water, women there have been using micellar water for decades in their beauty routines. This magical liquid, which contains micelles to gently cleanse the skin and dissolve dirt and makeup, doesn't even need to be rinsed off. So obviously, since making its way to the U.S. in recent years, it has quickly become a cult-favorite product.

Not only is it gentle enough for the most sensitive of skin, but the ease-of-use and hacks that micellar water offers make it a lazy girl's dream. After all, we know all too well the struggle of remembering to remove our makeup and wash our faces before going to bed. This takes care of all of that (and more). You won't want to use anything else. And you probably won't need to. Here are five ways to use micellar water that will keep any lazy girl's life hassle-free. Consider your skincare routine officially slimmed down.

1. Remove Makeup

Saturate a cotton pad with micellar water, and swipe across your face to easily remove makeup. For more stubborn areas like the eyes and lips, hold the cotton pad over the area for 20 seconds so it can better dissolve makeup.

2. Clean Jagged Edges

Don't be afraid to apply a bold lip or winged eyeliner in a rush. If your lines aren't quite as sharp as you would like, dip a cotton swab into some micellar water and trace the edges. It will clean up any haphazard applications in a flash.

3. Wash Your Face

Morning or night, if you just can't be bothered to deal with soap, water, and a towel, sweep some micellar water over your skin using a cotton pad. It literally takes less than a minute, and it's kind of cool to see just how much dirt comes off your skin.

4. Spot Clean

Maybe you walked around barefoot, or your underarms are a little less than fresh. If you don't have time for a shower, quickly wipe down trouble areas with a micellar water-soaked cotton pad. No need to rinse.

5. Quickly Refresh

Because micellar water is basically a cleanser and moisturizer in one, it can be used anytime for a quick refresh or rehydration. Skin feeling a little icky in the middle of a long, hot day? Micellar water. Skin feeling a little dehydrated or tight in the middle of a cold, dry day? Micellar water.

Now, who's going to tell coconut oil it's time to step aside?
