The Best Quotes From The 2016 Grammy Awards

by Emily Lackey

Oh, those celebrities — give them a microphone and a fancy outfit, and they'll say the darnedest things. My favorite part of any awards show is, by far, what people say on the red carpet and on stage. Will they mess up their lines? Will they reveal details about their personal lives? Will they be super awkward in their delivery of the aforementioned lines? From starting Twitter wars to making really awkward jokes, often times famous people say the most amazing things. And, at the best quotes from the 2016 Grammy Awards show that Monday night was no different. Left and right, stars were saying the greatest and most ridiculous things.

In fact, some of the best moments came from these stars who opened up. And trust me, hearing what they had to say was worth recording and reliving time and time again. They're the quotes everyone will be talking about in the office Tuesday morning, the quotes that will turn into memes within hours, and the quotes that will live on in Grammys infamy.

Yes, the 2016 Grammy Awards was a show for the ages, especially when it came to what everyone was saying. On stage or on the red carpet, these were some of the best quotes from this year's Grammy Awards.

1. “That’s The Fourth Time You’ve Done That.”

Selena Gomez said this to Ryan Seacrest after he awkwardly sang a line from her hit song, “Hands to Myself,” on the red carpet. When did Seacrest become everyone’s awkward dad?

2. “My Date Is Taylor Swift.”

3. “Who Gets More Whippings?”

7. “I Want To Apologize To Almost Everyone Here For What Family Guy Has Said About You.”

8. "As The First Woman To Win Album Of The Year At The Grammys Twice..."

Was it a response to Kanye's "Famous" lyrics? Was it a stand of independence? Whatever it was, Taylor Swift's acceptance speech was epic. So epic that it's worth printing in full:

As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but, if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.

Epic, no?

It was a great nice for music and an even better night for awesome quotes.
