Ariana Grande Shows Off Her The Weeknd Impression

Ariana Grande and her famous ponytail made an appearance at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night. She walked the red carpet in a gorgeous dress, and during the ceremony, Ariana Grande introduced The Weeknd's performance at the 2016 Grammys with a pun that was a little awkward and an impression that was definitely adorable. It's pretty clear that Grande's got great pipes, but who knew she could even try on The Weeknd's voice for size? She did a pretty great job at it, too, but sadly they did not combine for a duet — this time.

Grande came out and seemed to climb a very large platform on stage, because the Grammys must love to challenge women in expensive dresses and heels. Once she was securely up high on the Grammy stage, she proceeded to begin her scripted introduction for The Weeknd's performance, which included a list of the accolades he was up for on Monday night. Grande acknowledged she was about to make "the pun of the century," by saying he "earned it." Get it? One of his biggest hits of the year was the song "Earned It" from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Sadly, some people were not a fan of her pun and actually booed her. Can you believe? That was not acceptable.

To make up for it, Ari broke out an incredible The Weeknd impression to shut up the haters. It's pretty darn glorious, but I'm not shocked she can do it. Grande has done many other impressions of other singers on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 's Musical Impressions skits. In the segment, she impersonated Britney Spears, Christina Augilera, and Celine Dion singing The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face."
