by Allyson Koerner

On Friday morning, it was reported by AL.com that critically-acclaimed author Harper Lee has died at the age of 89. Of course, she will forever be remembered for her 1960 masterpiece To Kill A Mockingbird, in addition to being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Pulitzer Prize for her literary accomplishments. As it goes with most individuals who made an impact on the world and many peoples' lives, celebrities are mourning Harper Lee's death on social media.

Throughout her lifetime, Lee only ever wrote two books, To Kill A Mockingbird (which was also turned into the 1962 film starring Gregory Peck) and Go Set A Watchman , which was released in 2015 and is a sequel to Mockingbird. It's quite amazing that she was able to move the world with just two published works. Of course, it was really To Kill A Mockingbird that registered with fans of Lee. It's a timeless story and one that many consider their favorite novel of all time.

It's really no wonder that so many people, including celebrities, are taking to social media to express what Lee meant to them. She definitely influenced the lives of so many people across the world.
