Big news for the actor best known for her role as Gretchen "I'm totally rich because my dad invented Toaster Strudel" Wieners in Mean Girls: as she shared over the weekend, Lacey Chabert is pregnant with her first child. On Saturday, the star posted an adorable Instagram photo revealing the exciting announcement, hashtagging #pregnant and writing, "I'm so happy to share the good news that my husband and I are expecting a baby later this year! We are thrilled and so thankful for this blessing."
Chabert and husband Dave Nehdar have a sweet love story. They married in January 2014 at a soiree with several celebrity guests in attendance, from Kaley Cuoco to Amy Davidson of 8 Simple Rules to The Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky, Us Weekly reports. When the nuptials were revealed to the public, said People, Chabert posted a nice message, saying, "I'm starting off 2014 as a Mrs! Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life...we became husband & wife! #soblessed #love."
Fast forward two years, and Chabert has continued with the adorable social media life announcements. The way she announced her pregnancy was, in the words of Gretchen Weiners, so fetch — in the Instagram photo, she shared an image of her dog, Kitty, rocking a t-shirt that reads, "“My mom is having a baby & all I get is this silly shirt." And while Kitty doesn't seem to be to pleased with the whole affair (the pup is seen giving the camera a look like "Why do you always put me in human clothes? Can't you see I'm a dog?"), it's a nice, silly way to share the announcement.
Congratulations to Chabert and Nehdar (and their not-so-happy little dog) on the big news! May this baby bring them as much joy in their lives as a pair of white good hoops for Hanukkah would in Gretchen's.
