Jenny Beavan's Jacket Is Surprisingly Affordable
The British costume designer just picked up her second Academy Award for Mad Max: Fury Road — and she did it while wearing quite possibly the coolest leather jacket ever. So, let's ask the million-dollar question: Where the heck can you buy Jenny Beavan's jacket from the 2016 Oscars?
Well, as luck would have it — the faux-leather jacket comes from Marks & Spencer (which, if you haven't heard of it before, is kind of like the British version of Target). Beavan took some flak for her casual ensemble — her fellow Academy members and nominees were caught giving her rather unkind some side-eye — but she was more than happy to explain the genesis behind her genius outfit. She explained in the press room that the epic, flaming rhinestone skull was an "homage to Mad Max ." Plus, as she puts it, "I just like feeling comfortable, and as far as I'm concerned I'm really dressed up."
Perhaps best of all, according to the Independent, Beavans also revealed how to get the look — she said, "This is Marks & Spencer with Swarovski at the back." So, if you're interested in rocking Mad Max-themed faux-leather, all you need is a standard motorcycle jacket... and some Oscar-worthy bedazzling skills.
Beavan's exact jacket is no longer available at M & S, but here are a few options to get you started on your post-apocalyptic glam style.
