Kanye West Announces New Project With 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne, But What Is It Exactly?

You have to wonder whether or not Kanye West actually sleeps. It's only been a few weeks since he revealed his Yeezy Season 3 collection to a crowd of over 20,000 people at Madison Square Garden in New York City and dropped his new album, The Life Of Pablo , and he's already on to the next creative endeavor. In fact, on Tuesday morning, West revealed that his new project with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne is dropping on Friday, March 4. I love all three rappers, so I'm sure whatever they're doing will be great, but the question is, what exactly is this project? Is it a song? A full album? I need to know more!

West's social media announcement was accompanied by a photo of what appears to be the cover of an album or single (which features a photo of 2Chainz with Lil Wayne's tattoos), complete with a parental advisory sticker on the bottom right corner. Any details beyond that are, well, nonexistent, leaving us to wonder exactly what's coming our way on Friday. Most of us are still busy absorbing TLOP, so an entire album of new material already is almost too much to hope for, but anything can happen.

It's a bit of an odd word choice to refer to a single song as a "project", but then West does some inexplicable things at times, so perhaps we shouldn't really read too much into it and take it as a clue. What we do know is that 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne already had a project in the works called ColleGrove, but it's unclear whether that has anything to do with Kanye's release or if they're in fact one in the same. That's something we'll have to wait until Friday to find out for sure, it seems like.

Whatever the collaboration between West, 2 Chainz, and Wayne actually turns out to be — and honestly, I am holding out for a full album worth of tracks, because it's got the potential to be pretty genius — it's guaranteed to be worth listening to and talking about. You've got to hand it to West — there's never a dull moment with him, that's for sure.
