Summer is coming, and with it, an utterly massive high-low mashup. Known for its blockbuster co-branded collections, like the Who What Wear partnership, beloved discount retailer Target has teamed up with Marimekko, the Finnish design house, for a collaboration that will feature over 200 pieces inspired by eternal summer. I'll step back and let you digest that information before continuing. Still with me? Good! Most items in the collection will be priced below $50, with a few exceptions, like a paddle board. The range truly is all-encompassing, as it will include apparel and accessories for women and girls, outdoor decor, and other entertaining items. Whoa, for realz! When can you start shopping Target x Marimekko at stores and online?
Mark those calendars for Sunday, April 17. Because that's when you can begin purchasing Target x Marimekko items in all of their fabulousness. The collection boasts bold prints and bright colors. It's main aesthetic is playful and, well, summery.
As is the case with most Target collabs, Target x Marimekko will be a limited edition range. That means you can scoop up amazing deals when the pieces eventually go on clearance... provided this mashup doesn't sell out quickly, like the infamous Target x Missoni collection.
The Target design team was inspired by Finland's four distinct seasons, namely the juxtaposition of a cold and dark winter and the everlasting summer, which sees the sun out till nearly midnight!
I know I will be scoping out the beachwear... since it's mostly black and way beyond cute.
Seriously, though. How fun is this collabo? The print-centric nature is just so... happy.
I admit that I am a Target loyalist. I don't really do Walmart, save for rare exceptions, like checking out the Hard Candy or Flower Beauty offerings. I prefer Target as my main "all in" retail destination. It's collections like this one with Marimekko that won't allow me to escape the Target gravitational pull. #SorryNotSorry.
Go ahead and make that calendar reminder in your phone for April 17 now, all ye Target-o-philes.
