Here's What Kids Think Of Donald Trump

by Eliza Castile

It's not hard to figure out how many adults feel about the most talked-about Republican presidential campaign of the decade: Bewildered, slightly horrified, and not entirely sure it's not an elaborate joke. But how do kids react to Donald Trump? If you don't have a child of your own or a younger cousin to ask, YouTube channel Fine Brothers Entertainment has got you covered with their latest installment of "Kids React," in which kids, well, react to a number of topics on camera. This time, the subject is what you've been waiting for since he first tossed his somewhat perplexing hair into the ring for the Republican presidential nomination: Donald Trump.

The video's nine glorious minutes pretty much go down like you'd expect. Although one child appears inexplicably fascinated by Trump, the vast majority of the kids featured disagree with Trump's diplomacy (or lack thereof), his treatment of women and minorities, his off-color jokes — actually, pretty much everything the man does. The general consensus is that even if they agree with him on some matters, he's rude, and it doesn't bode well for his presidency.

"I get you're speaking your mind," one boy says, "but say it in a way that won't hurt people."

When shown footage of Trump and Ted Cruz speaking over each other during a debate, another boy notes the similarity between their rhetoric and his own fights with his brother. He described it as follows:

Well played, youngster. Well played.

As with any video featuring preteens, there's an impressive amount of sarcasm, especially when shown a clip of Trump discussing a "small loan of a million dollars" from his father. "It hasn't been easy for me, but I'm filthy rich," 11-year-old Kacey says sardonically.

If you've lost your faith in humanity after the results of Super Tuesday, the video will go a long way toward restoring it; although some kids note that their parents are Trump supporters, the participants in the video seem to universally believe that his presidency would be a fiery trainwreck of diplomacy. (Which it inevitably would.)

"[America] is great," one particularly astute kid says. "You're just going to make it worse." Later, she hits the nail on the head when she remarks, "Everybody is saying a bunch of stuff about him, and that's just making him more popular."

But in the end, this child sums up all of our feelings without saying a word.

Same, bro. Check out the video below:
