Ke$ha Extends Rehab Stay

by Tanya Ghahremani

This is a totally understandable move, and I'm really happy to hear that she's finally focusing on herself over her music and work. According to E! Online, Ke$ha has extended her rehab stay at a Chicago-area rehab facility, and canceled her upcoming tour dates, in an effort to focus on her recovery and her health.

The news was announced in a statement from Ke$ha herself: "I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my Doctor's advice and get my health back on track," she said. "All of your support has been so amazing. I couldn't have done this without you all. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever on the next tour." All of the canceled concert dates were to take place in March and April.

Ke$ha shocked fans when she entered rehab early last month for an eating disorder, leaving only a note for fans stating, "I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder… to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am." The treatment should have ended earlier this month.

While it's probably a disappointment to fans that Ke$ha won't be performing, it's a great sign that she's taking her health seriously: According to a source close to Ke$ha, the singer is "doing great. Instead of cutting it to 30 days in treatment she has decided to stay a little longer. She has postponed a couple of days but is doing great."
