Ke$ha checks into rehab for an eating disorder, leaves note for fans
The "Tik Tok" singer has been struggling behind closed doors, and now Ke$ha publicly enters rehab for an eating disorder. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder... to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am," the singer told TMZ. "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice," she candidly admitted. According to TMZ's report, she checked into Timberline Knolls near Chicago, the same rehab facility Demi Lovato once stayed. In her most recent music video for "Timber" ft. Pitbull, the vegetarian "Die Young" singer appears significantly smaller.
In April, the internet noticed a drastically slimmer Ke$ha than the singer they were used to seeing. At the time, Ke$ha tweeted, "I'm doing a juice cleanse and want to die." In June the singer covered Self magazine, and said of her workout routine: "My show is very energetic — I dance and sing at the same time and run around. Training for a tour is like training for a marathon. When I'm eating healthy and working out, it helps me stay sane and exude confidence." She continued to say: "Eighty percent of the time I watch my portions and eat veggies and lean protein. It's excruciatingly boring, but it makes my body happy. The other 20 percent of the time, I do whatever I want. It's OK to sometimes eat an (expletive) ton of chocolate!"
