9 Perfumes That'll Upgrade Your Scent Game
Like music, scents can take us back to a specific period of time, or even a place, making a signature scent so important to each person. With a new season rolling in, it's time to consider some perfumes for summer, after the long and cold winter and temperamental spring left us in a state of confusion.
Much like my wardrobe, my perfumes are seasonal, too. In the winter, I wear a heavier, deeper scent that matches the rest of my look — sweaters, hats, and lots of layers. Often, I actually go for a lighter cologne with hints of vanilla and tobacco, a scent that feels super warm and cozy. But with spring her and summer rolling around, I'm always craving something lighter, sweeter, and with more upbeat notes. After all, if you change your wardrobe, your shoes, and your haircut, why wouldn't you change your scent?
The power of a perfume or cologne is unparalleled. My sister even told me that she associates one scent with being hungover and as a result, had to throw it away. OK, so that's a grim example, but whenever I smell Daisy by Marc Jacobs, I'm instantly brought back to the summer of 2013, when I first interned in New York City. It reminds me of one of my favorite time periods, and for that, I cherish it. But it also makes me realize that a new chapter means a new scent.
In honor of the warm weather that's upon us, consider these perfumes that will definitely give you summer feels all-season-long.
