At this point, Kylie Jenner's friends are practically as famous as she is. From Jordyn Woods to Harry Hudson, her pals star in her Snapchat videos and have garnered quite a following of their own. But surprisingly, there may be a new buddy in Jenner's life, if her latest stream of tweets is any indication. On Sunday night when the 18-year-old polled her Twitter followers about what her makeup line should tackle next, Iggy Azalea asked Jenner to make contouring kits — even saying she'd buy 100 of them. I immediately wondered: Are Kylie Jenner and Iggy Azalea friends? This may actually be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, especially since the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star then slid into her DMs.
Following the makeup related tweets, Azalea shared a video where she's rapping along to a verse from her soon-to-be-released song "TEAM." In the clip, it sounds like she raps, "What's your name? Kardashian, Kylie." Of course, the last name isn't correct, but the "Fancy" singer clarified the shoutout and wrote, "we know your technicallllly a Jenner, but your still a Kardashian in our hearts." Jenner responded with a heart-eyes emoji, which basically serves as a stamp of approval and means no hard feelings about the switched surname.
Apparently fans on Twitter seem to have mixed feelings about their blossoming BFF-hood. Some are rooting for them to collaborate — whether on makeup or music. (Last year, there were rumors that they were releasing a song together with Tyga, but Jenner dismissed that speculation as "fake.") Meanwhile, others tweeted that Azalea is using the reality star to get attention. Regardless of whether there's an ulterior motive, their Twitter exchange looks pretty genuine to me.
Although it doesn't seem like these two ladies have a history of friendship, they can certainly relate to one another. In December, Azalea's lips looked fuller and she was accused of trying to look like Jenner by critics on the Internet. Regardless of whether she did plump her lips, the point is that they can both bond over being insulted for their appearance, but rising above it.
They've also each owned up to the cosmetic procedures they've had. As everybody knows, Jenner used lip fillers. And when speaking to Seventeen last September, Azalea commented on her own plastic surgery, telling the magazine, "I don't think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself, which is why I've spoken about the changes I've made." Props to these two for owning their appearances and not being afraid to embrace the truth.
Personally, I'm rooting for them to team up. Whether it's for a new contouring kit, hair dye, or even just having Jenner appear in the music video for Azalea's new song. After all, she does have a shoutout, so why not make the most of it?
