This Is A Big Step For The 'Bachelor's New Couple

by Molly Freeman

Although many of us who watch The Bachelor from the safety of our homes tend to delight in the drama that results when one man attempts to find love among a group of 20+ women, the goal of the show is more about the leading man attempting to find someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with. In Ben Higgins' case, he found two women he loved, but only one that he could offer the final rose. So will Ben and Lauren move in together after The Bachelor and take that particular step in their relationship now that they're engaged?

During the After The Finale Rose, Lauren revealed she's moving to Denver super soon! That shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering the nature of their romance on The Bachelor — it moved pretty quickly! And the Bachelor was clear about his feelings during the Women Tell All episode when Ben said he would marry Lauren right away if he could (keeping her identity a secret at that time, of course). But, in fact, many Bachelor and Bachelorette couples are slow to move in after the show wraps, so they seem to be the anomaly.

Let's look at The Bachelorette from Season 11, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and her winner Shawn Booth. These crazy kids pretty much fell in love as soon as he stepped out of the limo and the only apparent conflict in their relationship seemed to be the fact that Kaitlyn was also dating other men — which obviously can't be helped on The Bachelorette. So, with these two seeming to be as solid as any relationship can be coming out of either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, when they'd move in together seemed less like a question and more of a foregone conclusion.

Still, Bristowe and Booth didn't move in right away. OK! Magazine reported the Bachelorette couple moving in together in Nashville in September, roughly two months after Bristowe chose Booth as her winner — but it would have been longer into their relationship if we consider that filming wrapped months before the final rose ceremony aired on television. According to an interview with People, Bristowe and Booth waited to move in because it seemed more normal than continuing the whirlwind pace from The Bachelorette. Booth told the magazine, "We only knew each other for ten weeks before I proposed. We're both normal people and the most normal thing we can do is wait."

It's no secret that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette attempt to cram all the normal relationship steps into an extremely condensed period of time, so it's totally understandable that Ben and Lauren would also want to wait before they take that next step. But, it seems like they're totally ready.

For now, it seems Lauren will be moving to Denver as soon as her and Ben's schedules allow, as she revealed on the After The Final Rose special. Now, will she still be a flight attendant? I hope so since she seems super tight with her family, especially her sister Molly (you know, the one that made Ben cry) and that could be a good way for her to visit after moving to Denver!
