9 Purple Kylie Lip Kit Dupes For That Goth Look

How deep is your love? Screw that. How deep is your lipstick shade? That is the really important question. Kylie Jenner teased a deep, dark, and purple Lip Kit color on Instagram last night. Of course, KLK devotees went nuts over what looks to be her boldest and most dramatic Lip Kit hue yet. The closet relative of the purple-y x burgundy'ish shade in the seven, already-existing Lip Kits is True Brown K. Jenner's BFF Jordyn Woods test drove the new color, which the reality star hinted about, and she looked absolutely gorgeous. It's not a color everyone can pull off, since it's so dark, gothic, and utterly precise.

If you absolutely love how amazing Woods' painted pout looked in the short Insta video, aren't into (or can't score) the nudes, neutrals, pinks, red, or orange colors in the existing Lip Kit lineup, and can't wait for this noob to go on sale to try and get it, well, you are in luck. There are plenty of alternatives and dupes out there so you can copy this lip look.

First, let's look at the new and currently nameless Kylie Lip Kit. It's the strongest, most "look at me" shade that she has debuted so far. It's so not like the others, even though they are all unique in their own matte way.

Observe!

It's a potent purple lip look. It's bordeaux, it's wine, it's burgundy, it's grape, and it's amazing. It's also quite hard to define. That means it is going to be a blockbuster. For what it's worth, the pretty pink Koko K remains my absolute fave.

It's not for shy girls — that's for sure.

Here are nine alternatives that are not exact dupes but are of the same spirit, shade, and style.

1. Kat Von D Beauty Liquid Lipstick

Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Vampira, $20, Kat Von D Beauty

Of course Kat Von D has a comparable option. It's also a similar, super matte, and suede-like formula that dries wonderfully and doesn't budge.

2. Kat Von D Beauty Studded Kiss Lipstick

Studded Kiss Lipstick in Vampira, $21, Kat Von D Beauty

You can opt for the lipstick bullet version of this gothy shade. Just apply six or seven coats so you get the full drama that the shade is capable of.

3. Urban Decay Matte Revolution

Matte Revolution in Blackmail, $22, Urban Decay

This baby is a bit more on the purple side with its deep, dark, and matte look.

4. Hard Candy

Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color in Dahlia, $7, Hard Candy

Hard Candy is getting in on the matte fun, with delish, vanilla-scented, and mousse-textured mattes. Plus, they come packaged in the cutest, repurposable tins.

5. Manic Panic

Lethal Lipstick in Glamourose, $15.50, Manic Panic

Manic Panic's punk rock Glamourose will stain lips in a similar burgundy'ish shade.

6. e.l.f.

Moisturizing Lipstick in Wine Tour, $3, e.l.f.

This is a cheap 'n' chic way to rock this look. I recommend building your look with several coats and lip liner if you opt for lipstick. Since this one is so affordable, you can pile on layers of color.

7. NYX

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage, $7, NYX

NYX always has quality lip products and mega mattes. This is another buildable color option. It's totally and completely OK to go with more than two or six coats of this or any of these alternatives.

8. MAC

Cremesheen Lipstick in Boyfriend Stealer, $17, MAC

Of course MAC's offers a beautiful option with the flawlessly named Boyfriend Stealer. It's majorly creamy and will give you "look at me" lips.

9. MAC

VIVAGLAM Lipstick in Ariana, $17, MAC

You could also opt for Ariana Grande's VIVAGLAM lipstick, which is limited edition and for a good cause, since every cent of the selling price goes towards the MAC AIDS Fund. It's a deep, dark plum that is as goth as it gets.

So there you have nine options if you can't wait for the purple x burgundy Kylie Lip Kit or don't want the anxiety of trying to shop it only to have to sell out while you think your online shopping cart is processing.
