Well, Daryl survived a bullet to the shoulder, but The Walking Dead has officially proven that nobody is safe thanks to Negan's climatic arrival. Did Negan kill Daryl on The Walking Dead ? We may have to make good on our promise to rival when the series returns for Season 7.
Since The Walking Dead Season 6 finale ended with Negan striking a deadly blow to some unseen character — we have to consider everybody, except Rick Grimes, because the "punishment" was for his benefit. That leaves: Sasha, Abraham, Maggie, Aaron, Glenn, Eugene, Michonne, Daryl, Rosita, and Carl. Who is it? Shouldn't be too hard to narrow that down, right?
Without trying to recreate Negan's "game" of eeny, meenie, miney, moe, why do I think it may have been Daryl? First of all because Negan didn't make any kind of witty comment about him while running down the lineup. I also think that Dwight's shot and promise that Daryl will be alright could have been a red herring. Daryl never really fit in at Alexandria, and Carol is gone now. What if his story is really over?
On the other hand, Daryl has made a promise to kill Dwight, and I like to think that Daryl is going to make good on that promise. Plus, and this is a little brutal, but we know that there are going to be survivors from Rick and Negan's first meeting, or there would be very little story to tell in Season 7. Most of this group is going to make it back to Alexandria. Honestly, I don't think that they're going to be able to do that without Daryl, so I'm telling myself that there's no way Negan chose him.
