New ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Spoilers Reveal A Major Character Has A Brand New Love Interest
Sometimes, I can’t take the amount of new information that seems to be coming from the set of the Gilmore Girls revival, like on Friday, when a list of 24 “scoops” from the revival were released. A handful of them totally surprised me. Like, the fact that TVLine is reporting that at least one of the four main characters — that’s Lorelai, Rory, Luke, or Emily — will have a new love interest in the Gilmore Girls revival? Yeah. I can't believe it, either. But, of course, I’m taking this news and running with it because I am hoping against all hope that Emily Gilmore is the one lead who gets a new love interest in the revival.
Why? Well, to be quite honest, I don’t think my heart could take it if Lorelai or Rory had another love interest hanging around in town. With all of their exes set to return to Stars Hollow, the last thing either of those Gilmore girls need is another man making things complicated. With Luke, Christopher, Jason, Jess, Dean, and Logan all returning for the revival, I’m going to say that these ladies are going to be distracted enough by these six men as it is. Throwing a new guy into the mix would just complicate things even more and make my head spin from all the possible love triangles… or are they love rectangles at this point?
So all that leaves us with is a possible new love interest for Emily Gilmore. And can I just say that I think this would really be the best option for everyone involved. Especially since she’ll be coming off a season of grief after the death of her husband of over 40 years, Richard Gilmore. As terrible and tragic as this loss will be in her life, it strikes me as wonderfully hopeful for Emily if she were able to find a new love interest — and happiness — by the end of the series. No one deserves the possibility of new love and new life more than Emily.
And, hey, if she just so happens to be the one to get married in the finale, then let it be known now and forever more: I totally called this one.
