What Is Caitlyn Jenner's MAC Lipstick Called? The Name Has Deep Meaning
Ever since publicly coming out in 2015, Caitlyn Jenner has been shining brighter than ever in the spotlight. In just barely a year's time, she was honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs, landed her very own reality television show, and became the face of the H&M Sport campaign. Not too long ago, we learned that she is collaborating with MAC on a custom lipstick, which finally dropped after much anticipation. While the lippie is obviously amazing, I couldn't help but wonder — what is Caitlyn Jenner's MAC lipstick called? The name definitely has some significance.
Anyone who is familiar with Jenner's story can imagine that the name of her signature lipstick refers to her transition. She has often spoken publicly about having lived most of her life not being true to her identity, so I can only imagine how freeing it must feel to come out in the open and live life as your authentic self, hence the name, "Finally Free," for her lipstick.
Since Jenner officially made her debut on that cover of Vanity Fair, she's been open about her transition. Although there have been moments in which she has discussed issues that affect transgender rights without much intersectionality in mind, Jenner is clearly trying to learn and grow. It would only make sense, then, that her first makeup design venture would be linked to her experiences, and the larger transgender rights movement, too. In fact, Jenner explained the inspiration for the name in an interview with MAC, "I wanted a name that I use, and which represents the community. This is who I am: Finally Free."
The phrase "finally free," obviously has a deep recurring meaning throughout her new life.
The name "Finally Free" appears to represent Jenner's newfound freedom to be her true self.
