Simon Cowell Still Loves To Judge People

by Alaina Urquhart-White

One name (aside from Ryan Seacrest) that is synonymous with American Idol is definitely Simon Cowell. He was the ultimate "mean guy," and bluntly judged contestants from the first season until he left the show in 2010. Fans could always count on him to wear a black t-shirt (or a white one) and to make someone cry. You have dreams? You better be good or Cowell will crush them. Now that American Idol is coming to an end, we will get to see him grace the Idol stage once again for the series finale special. But, what has Simon Cowell been up to since leaving the show?

As it turns out, he's been up to a lot. Does this guy sleep? I can't imagine that he does because he appears to be constantly involved in some project at any given moment. He also isn't exactly gushing about the show that made him a household name in America. Cowell recently told the Mirror, "Paula was the right leg and I was the left leg. And with both legs gone, it wasn't the same show," he said. "To be honest I think it changed more significantly once Paula left. At least for me, the show was never the same because she and I had such a connection and such a shorthand together.”

But, he will be back for the finale one last time, at least, and here's what else he's been up to.

Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway

Cowell has made several appearances on the British comedy television show which features, skits and stunts. It's heavily influenced by SNL and there is an entire sketch dedicated to the mystery of, "Who Shot Simon Cowell?"

He created the talent competition show and has been a longtime judge of the show, according to his IMDB.

America's/Britain's Got Talent

According to his IMDB, Cowell created the Got Talent shows in 2006 to showcase all forms of talent. He also acted as a judge on the UK based show. The show focuses on everything from music, dance, magicians, extreme sports, and everything in between. It's been a massive success on both sides of the pond.

Becoming A Father

Cowell became a father to his son, Eric Cowell in 2014.

The star has been keeping insanely busy since his American Idol days. He has made appearances of a number of talk shows and reality competitions, as well as lending his voice to characters on Family Guy and the Simpsons, according to IMDB. Luckily for us, Cowell will take a break and fans will get to see a glimpse of the good old days during the American Idol series finale.
