Kerry Washington Gives The LBD A Modern Update

If you haven't taken a second to look at some of this star's killer looks, do me a favor and do so like, right now. As Olivia Pope and IRL, this actor is a complete style star. Case in point: Kerry Washington's LBD at the screening of HBO's Confirmation in New York City, that basically showed that the Little Black Dress can be far from boring.

When talking about wardrobe staples every woman should have, the Little Black Dress is at the top of the list. It can be worn to work, a cocktail party, or even a date, depending on what you're accessorizing it with. Essentially, if I had to live with only one piece of clothing in my entire wardrobe, I would definitely pick my LBD.

Unfortunately, though it's a classic, it can sometimes be played out. But Kerry Washington shows us exactly how to make sure it doesn't fall flat. Washington's Brandon Maxwell off-the-shoulder black dress is everything. Super flattering and flirty, this dress shows off just the right amount of skin, while still looking and feeling super elegant.

Washington paired her gorgeous dress with Gianvito Rossi heels and a box clutch, serving us cool-girl, elegant realness. As for her hair and makeup, she kept it simple with a neat bun and a natural lip. All in all, she looked absolutely stunning.

Are you dying yet? I am.

It's not really surprising that she completely slays, though. Elegant dresses are practically in her DNA. Shout out to Washington's unforgettable sheer nude Miu Miu dress she rocked at the Golden Globes in 2013. Basically, she's a fashion force to be reckoned with.
